Microneedling is carried out with is a small, hand-held device that delivers up to 1,300 micro-punctures per second, promoting new collagen growth and noticeable improvements in the skin’s appearance. Like its laser counterparts, microneedling targets micro-treatment areas; the untreated tissue surrounding the treatment areas promotes rapid healing. Utilized without heat, microneedling minimizes the risk and possibility of side effects associated with laser treatments. Over a series of treatments, microneedling treatments tighten, lift and rejuvenate the skin, improving fine lines, wrinkles, scars and stretch marks.
Microneedling can be performed on the face, neck and décolleté.
We will first cleanse and tone your skin using specific SkinCeuticals products.
We will review our consent forms with you, making sure to answer any questions before proceeding with treatment.
We will then begin your treatment, numbing your skin beforehand if required. Your treatment provider will cover the treated areas with gel and glide the microneedling device in linear, repetitive and fast movements on your skin.
Tailored SkinCeuticals corrective and hydrating serums will be applied to the skin. We will apply SPF to your luminous skin to complete your treatment!

We recommend a series of 4 treatments repeated every 4-6 weeks. To address acne scarring, we may recommend a series of 8-12 treatments.
We do not offer Microneedling to women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, nor to individuals with an immunosuppressive condition.

Treatment times vary by the areas being treated. A full face microneedling treatment takes 45 minutes.
Your treatment provider will cover the treated areas with gel and glide the microneedling device in linear, repetitive and fast movements on your skin. Most patients experience heat in the area being treated, that dissipates as your treatment provider moves to a different section of the face. Most people find the treatment comfortable, however, if you are anxious about discomfort, we recommend applying a numbing cream to the treated area at home 1 hour prior to your appointment. Ask us about topical anesthetic cream, sold at Project Skin MD® and safe to use prior to treatment.
Some patients experience minor pin-point bleeding or petechia (small purple or red dots from bleeding under the skin). This is normal and will resolve on it’s own within a week.
Immediately following treatment, you may feel a sensation similar to a mild sunburn, followed by minor tightness or itchiness in the first 48 hours after your treatment. After 3-4 days, you may experience a bit of mild peeling, however your skin should feel back to normal by day 4 or 5 post treatment.
Many patients experience a brighter, smoother complexion within a week following their first treatment, which will continue to improve with a series of treatments.
For the most part, yes. However, it is recommended to avoid excessive perspiration, hot tubs, and saunas for 24 hours after your treatment. Also, direct sun exposure on the treated area should be avoided for 1-2 weeks.
