What we do
PRP stands for “Platelet-Rich Plasma”, and the treatment—which usually takes less than 30 minutes—involves the injection of this plasma into the scalp using a very fine needle. Prior to treatment, your blood is drawn and placed into a centrifuge, which separates red blood cells from the plasma used in treatment. The platelets found in this plasma provide essential growth factors that, once injected directly into the scalp, immediately get to work promoting hair thickening and new hair growth. It might sound scary, but typically the treatment involves minimal discomfort and little-to-no downtime. Some bruising may occur at the site of the injections, but usually resolves within a week or two. The number of treatments required will be different for each patient depending on the severity of hair loss, but results will begin to appear 4-12 months after the first treatment series.
