Comprised of Hyaluronic Acid (HA)—a naturally-occurring sugar found in your body—dermal fillers like JUVÉDERM® and Belotero® are gently and expertly eased into the lips. This natural sugar binds to the water found in your lips to restore lost volume. Mild tenderness, swelling and bruising are common side effects of treatment. Patients can immediately return to their regular activities.
During a personalized assessment your injector will work with you to create a treatment plan to meet your unique skin goals.
We will then take baseline photos for your patient file. These will be used to show you your results and serve as a reference over time.
We will review our consent forms with you, making sure to answer any questions before proceeding with treatment.
We will then begin your treatment, numbing your lips beforehand if required.

Lip injections at our Vancouver clinic take approximately 30 minutes.
You may experience temporary redness, swelling and/or itching at the injection site. If this occurs, apply an ice pack or cold compress. Bruising is possible and will naturally subside within a week. If the symptoms persist for more than one week, please call us.
You will see results immediately, with the best results visible once any swelling fully subsides (typically within a week).

For the most part, yes. Patients are asked to avoid touching or pressing on the lips for the first 12 hours. Strenuous exercise, consumption of alcoholic beverages, extended exposure to the sun, heat, or extreme cold weather, and trying to manipulate or massage the lips are not recommended for 24 hours following treatment.
The most commonly reported side effects are temporary injection site redness, swelling, pain/tenderness, firmness and/or bruising. Side effects usually subside within one week.
