For those plagued by lax or loose skin on the neck, jawline or brow, the lift you’ve been waiting for is here. Meet Ultherapy®. Where surgery was once your only choice to lift lax skin, Ultherapy® introduces an effective, non-invasive alternative. Harnessing the power of ultrasonic energy, Ultherapy® reaches deeply into the dermis to heat and contract collagen. From a single treatment, skin lifts and firms for improved skin tone and youthful definition.

Before treatment, oral analgesics are administered to maximize comfort. Immediately following treatment, the targeted area may feel tender, but patients can return to their regular activities. Bruising can occur and may last for up to 7 days, but can be concealed with mineral makeup.
You may notice an instant collagen contraction with optimal lifting occurring 3 to 6 months post-treatment, as existing fibers tighten and new collagen generates. Ultherapy® is currently the only non-invasive device approved for lifting the neck, chin, jawline, cheeks, lids and brow. It is recommended alone or in combination with complementary treatments.
Ultherapy® is a non-invasive procedure that can be performed safely over the face, eyebrows, neck, décolleté and chest areas.
Depending on your desired outcome, we can treat the entire face or focus on a specific area. This can be discussed during an initial consultation where a tailored treatment plan will be created for your personalized needs. For example, the eyebrows can be treated to offer a brow lift. Similarly, the jawline can be treated to better define facial contours.
For amplified results, Ultherapy® can be used in combination with dermal fillers to restore volume loss all while tightening the skin.
Your experienced technician will begin by assessing your skin and areas of laxity to better tailor the treatment ahead. You will be invited to share your desired outcomes and point out the areas that are of concern to you. This will help to confirm the treatment plan.
Your technician will mark your skin to prepare for a precise treatment. First, your skin will be thoroughly cleansed. Your technician will then use a white pen and ruler to draw a temporary grid defining the treatment area. Your technician will follow this grid to deliver an effective Ultherapy® treatment.
As with all ultrasound devices, application of a thin layer of ultrasound gel is required to ensure adequate contact throughout the treatment. This allows ultrasound waves to penetrate the skin for accurate viewing.
Patented Ulthera® DeepSEE technology facilitates the viewing of skin tissue to a depth of 8 mm. A handpiece featuring an ultrasound imaging module is positioned on the skin so the technician can accurately view the subcutaneous layers of the skin for a treatment that is both safe and effective. This echographic examination assesses the depth at which the ultrasound can be performed and highlights problem areas to help the technician avoid the forehead’s frontal bone, manoeuvre easily around facial nerves, and treat cheeks close to the bone at a depth of 4.5 mm.
The treatment typically lasts between 30 and 90 minutes — the time needed to produce the energy bursts that stimulate production of new collagen. Guided by the traced-on grid and ultrasound imaging, your technician will adapt the treatment to your physiognomy, sometimes focusing on crow’s feet, neck lines, or “jowls”. The intense heat and snapping sensation can make the procedure uncomfortable for some. Patients are advised to take Tylenol or Advil before the procedure.

The length of the treatment will depend on the area being treated and your individual treatment plan. For example, a face and neck procedure typically takes 60-90 minutes, while a chest treatment takes approximately 30 minutes.
A well hydrated skin always responds better to any procedure. Make sure to drink plenty of water in the days prior to your treatment and avoid alcohol or too much caffeine consumption.
Immediately following treatment, you may appear flushed, and experience slight swelling, tingling, or tenderness, but these mild side effects shouldn’t affect your daily routine.
There is absolutely no downtime following Ultherapy® treatment, and you can expect to return to all regular activities.
Some patients experience bruising and tenderness in the areas that were treated, which may last for up to 7 days. Rest assured that bruising is temporary, and can be concealed with mineral make-up; we would be happy to show you some great application tips!
An instant collagen contraction may be noticeable, and optimal lifting will occur after 3-6 months as new collagen is produced and existing fibers tighten. Results typically last one to two years.
Ultherapy® is not intolerable, but it can be uncomfortable in some areas. As the treatment is being delivered, you will feel tiny amounts of energy being deposited to precise depths. The sensation only lasts while the ultrasound energy is being applied.
