Dr. William McGillivray

Medical Director

Dr. William McGillivray

Medical Director

Dr. William McGillivray doesn’t wear a wet suit to work each day so you are not likely to guess he was a champion windsurfer. His name tag reads Dr. McGillivray – not Dr. Shred – yet close personal friends rarely make the distinction. What cannot be seen on the outside are the qualities by which we are unique. After additional training in family practice at the University of Saskatchewan and diagnostic radiology at the University of Alberta, Dr. McGillivray has devoted his medical career to the advancement of aesthetic medicine through a synergy of artistry, science, innovation and integrity.

With a commitment to forwarding his industry, Dr. McGillivray is identified at the forefront of emerging technologies, speaking to his exceptional experience with such products as BOTOX® in Vancouver, BC. Along with Dr. Lupin, Dr. McGillivray was among the first Canadian physicians providing laser hair removal, Fraxel laser resurfacing, Thermage skin tightening and more. Recognized as a luminary educator, Dr. McGillivray travels the globe presenting and training on advanced applications for leading technologies including Fraxel®, Thermage®, BOTOX COSMETIC®, JUVÉDERM®, Teosyal®, Restylane® and Perlane®.

Media recognize the value of the expert. Dr. McGillivray, a Fellow of the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS), is frequently featured in popular media relaying latest advancements and techniques in anti-aging skin science. Dr. McGillivray’s expert appearances include Beauty by Design, The Fanny Kiefer Show, CTV News, Global BC News, City TV,WTN and the Kid Carson Show.

On the path to Project Skin MD, Dr. McGillivray has founded some of BC’s most notable aesthetic centres including Whistler Laser, Lougheed Laser and co-founded Vancouver’s Pacific DermAesthetics.

Cosmetic Physician

Project Skin Vancouver Dr. Janet Ip

Dr. Janet Ip

Cosmetic Physician

Former actress and filmmaker Dr. Janet Ip is thrilled to make her debut at Project Skin MD, infusing artistry into medicine through her cosmetic practice.  Her own struggle with teenage acne sparked an early interest in skin care and ignited an early passion for dermatology (cue: pursuit of flawless skin).

Originally from Winnipeg, this sweet Prairie Girl transplanted herself to the coast to complete a medical degree and family practice residency at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Ip practiced for 12 years at Pacific Derm, caring for a wide range of skin conditions and diseases, and honing a special interest in acne, rosacea, and skin cancers, as well as in cosmetic procedures.

She is currently a Clinical Instructor at UBC and lectures and teaches medical residents in the field of dermatology and the use of dermoscopy. She has been a repeat facilitator and panelist at the DermaCon conference, a continuing medical education event for health care professionals nationwide.

She’s quite the smarty-pants: Dr. Ip has published research in the Journal of Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery and has been the recipient of numerous academic scholarships and research awards, including recognition from the UBC Division of Dermatology and BC Cancer Foundation for her work in the field of skin cancer. She has been a medical consultant for the Globe and Mail and Canadian Health publications, as well as a participant in public skin cancer screening clinics held by the Canadian Dermatology Association.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Ip is a film, theatre and fashion buff and dabbles in the art of animal photography. She is excited to join the ranks of artists at Project Skin MD and to work once again with Dr. Bill McGillivray and this incredible team.

PS: Dr. Ip is taking a swing at tennis with the goal of making a seniors’ Wimbledon tournament one day.

Bev McGillivray

Clinic Visionary

Bev McGillivray

Clinic Visionary

The saying goes: “behind every great man is a great woman.” Bev isn’t likely to take the credit but few would disagree she has been the driving force at the forefront and behind the scenes of Dr. McGillivray’s medical career.

No one title is big enough to fit Bev McGillivray as she has worn many hats over the years, both clinically and administratively. She is very clear, however, on the ‘vision’ for Project Skin MD and dedicated to creating a wonderful home for patients and team alike. Bev understands every patient has a choice and should they choose Project Skin MD, it is a privilege that we must not take for granted.

Bev’s studies – sciences at UBC and Dental Hygiene in Toronto – laid a foundation where patient care is instinctual. She was fortunate enough to work in one of the most clinically advanced practices in Toronto, learning revolutionary techniques and practices well ahead of their time. Bev’s early adoption of best practices was very much aligned with her husband’s principles of practice. So, in their case, partnership is a natural synergy – in life and in business.

Bev was instrumental in creating Lougheed Medical Clinic, Lougheed Laser Centre, Whistler Laser Centre and Pacific Dermaesthetics but never has she been more passionate about a project as with Project Skin MD – a product of lessons learned on a long and exciting journey.

PS: Bev has three other “projects” on-the-go named Liam, Hannah and Cameron. Never a dull moment, Bev aspires to boredom – a feeling she has become entirely foreign to!

Vanessa Grutman

Business Director

Vanessa Grutman

Business Director

Our resident Frenchie, Vanessa moved from Montreal in 2009 just in time for the Winter Olympics. No, she did not come to compete, although she does hold a BSc in Kinesiology. Her formal training may be health and wellness oriented but it is the leadership, entrepreneurship, and business side where this gal shines!

As part of the L’Oreal team, Vanessa launched the SkinCeuticals brand in Western Canada back in 2010 and singlehandedly raised mammoth awareness in the medical arena for this scientifically accomplished, dermatological skincare line. Her in-depth knowledge led her to become a SkinCeuticals national trainer while growing the brand at an unprecedented rate. Dr. McGillivray and his wife Bev were one of her clients and together they envisioned the creation of the first SkinCeuticals Advanced Clinical Spa in North America – a unique patient-centred and fully integrated destination for long-lasting skin care results in Vancouver. Being congruent in ideals and principles, her entrepreneurial spirit called her to join Dr. McGillivray and Bev in creating what would become Project Skin MD.

Vanessa cares deeply about offering our clients the most innovative and empowering environment to learn about their skin health. In the clinic, she is mostly behind the scenes ensuring things are running smoothly on all levels. She thrives on injecting integrity, respect, trust and fun in everything she does. If you catch her around, she’ll likely be running from one meeting to the next, moving boxes in high heels or leading our PS Family.

PS: Our dynamo is a bit of a health nut. As a mom and wife, Vanessa takes the health of her family seriously, always looking for the next best thing. There is no such thing as the perfect work/life balance but she lives and breathes by her favourite mantra: “Dream Big, Live Simply”.

Bushra Salvino

Clinic Manager & Patient Consultant

Bushra Salvino

Clinic Manager & Patient Consultant

Originally from Pakistan, Bushra has travelled extensively and lived in various countries thanks to her diplomat father. While studying Fashion Design in London, England, she worked part-time as a medical assistant—a job that would ultimately introduce her to the industry she’s become so passionate about.

In 2010, Bushra moved to Vancouver where she began working as a Manager in a medical clinic. When one of the clinic’s physicians started her own medical aesthetic practice and invited Bushra on board as a Client Concierge, she didn’t hesitate. Soon, she was trained as a laser practitioner and was promoted to Office Manager. In this role she gained experience in client coordination, physician assistance, office management and performing laser treatments. She held this position until joining the team at Project Skin MD, and to this day receives e-mails and phone calls from past clients letting her know they miss her.

A mother to three daughters and a stepson, Bushra is passionate about fashion, makeup and skincare. On her personal days, you’ll likely find her hiking with her husband, taking a barre class with her daughters, or cultivating bonsai.

PS. Bushra knows skin! If you’re looking to transform your regimen or find the perfect product, she’s your girl.

Angela Haff, RN

Aesthetic Nurse Injector & CoolSculpting Specialist

Angela Haff, RN

Aesthetic Nurse Injector & CoolSculpting Specialist

Bringing a rare femininity and warmth to the Project Skin MD team, Angela Haff is preceded by a legendary reputation in the aesthetics industry. In a world dedicated to beauty and positive self image, she comes by her fame honestly. Angela began her career as a Critical Care Nurse and Medical Technical Advisor in the film and television industry. Life took a sharp turn when she went to work for one of the country’s most respected plastic surgeons, Dr. Richard Warren. Under the tutelage of this esteemed physician, Angela acquired valuable understanding of the importance of ethics and responsibility in aesthetic medicine.

Angela was one of Canada’s first Nurse Injectors with, now, over 24 years of experience. Her specialty led to a role as Clinical Nurse Specialist on the original launch team for the Restylane® family of facial fillers in Canada. In this role, Angela educated and trained many of Canada’s top physicians and nurses and mentored many of her U.S. counterparts. Eventually, her position developed into sales and training and, ultimately, into management for Medicis Aesthetics.

Angela’s personal accomplishments are as impressive. Born in England, Angela eventually settled in Vancouver. She has ridden her bike through the hills of Italy and on the Road To Conquer Cancer. She is an avid reader and, to this day, still meets with the same great women of the book club she helped initiate over 19 years ago. While she describes her career path as ‘unconventional,’ Angela proves to be an artist at heart. She is passionate about design and travel, she thrives when exploring a new city or culture and if you ask her about her greatest accomplishment, she will quickly answer, “Raising my three children. Now adults, they remain my best work to date!”

As a specialized injector here at Project Skin MD, Angela is focused on building trusting relationships and providing great outcomes that preserve and respect the individual. What makes us each unique is, after all, what makes us beautiful. She believes in embracing age and the benefits that are inherent to it. As one of her favourite writers and humourists so succinctly said:

“Be yourself. Everyone else is taken.” ~ Oscar Wilde.

There are few more adored or valued than Angela and our team is all the better for her. Our patients will benefit from an extraordinary talent and commitment to providing an exceptional level of care.

Roxanne Hallgren, RN, BScN

Cosmetic Sclerotherapy Nurse

Roxanne Hallgren, RN, BScN

Cosmetic Sclerotherapy Nurse

Born and raised in Vancouver, Roxanne Hallgren has worked full-time in the field of Phlebology (the study of veins and vein disease) since 1989, when she founded the successful Vancouver Vein Clinic Ltd.

Roxanne’s passion for helping her patients is matched only by her long list of qualifications and accomplishments. She was the first nurse to present at the American College of Phlebology in 1992, and is the only nurse in British Columbia—one of only three in Canada—to hold the designation of Elected Fellow of the Canadian Society of Phlebology. Throughout her impressive career, she has travelled the world to train with the best physicians in Phlebology, published several articles in her field, appeared in features on CBC News Hour, presented at both Canadian and American Phlebology meetings, and instructed many physicians and nurses in the assessment and treatment of vein disease.

Specializing in Cosmetic Sclerotherapy, Roxanne offers consultations and cosmetic treatments for spider and varicose veins at Project Skin MD. She is committed to keeping abreast of all the latest technology advances in Phlebology and aesthetic medicine, and annually attends international conferences on the subject to ensure every one of her treatments is as safe and effective as possible.

When she’s not treating varicose veins, you’ll likely find this animal-lover at the dog beach, riding her bike around UBC, shopping for fresh fish and produce on Granville Island, or working out with her trainer. Family is what’s most important to Roxanne, and she loves spending time with her brother, sister-in-law, and her nieces and nephew; she’s also a proud great-aunt!

PS. Roxanne has a love for horses. She and her mother bought their first pony for $50 when she was just ten years old, and she has since shared her life with four others.

Jeannie Kehoe

Senior Patient Consultant

Jeannie Kehoe

Senior Patient Consultant

Jeannie has not always worked in aesthetic medicine yet we can tell you it was what she was born to do. She’d argue that ‘Princess’ would have been a finer title but we know that Patient Concierge suits her to a T!

Another Montreal-er (born and raised), Jeannie’s working life began in the financial industry. In 1991, she moved to Hong Kong where she dabbled in real estate and worked part-time for Cathay Pacific. Jeannie’s keen interest in the cosmetic industry led to training in facial aesthetics while in Hong Kong and also inspired an appointment with Dr. McGillivray in Whistler, BC. There sparked the connection that would soon lead to a new career in Aesthetic Medicine.

In early 2007, Jeannie relocated to Vancouver as a founding staff member of Pacific DermAesthetics with the McGillivrays. During that tenure, Jeannie found her professional calling and has become an invaluable wealth of knowledge and wisdom for her patients.

Project Skin MD, Dr. McGillivray’s ultimate project, would not be complete without Jeannie’s assistance and steadfast loyalty. Officially, Jeannie’s role is to guide and assist our patients as patient concierge. She will ensure you navigate our ever-increasing opportunities to unmatched outcomes. Unofficially (of course), Jeannie is known to many of us as a Life Advisor, always happy to give (unsolicited) advice. We are sorry to report that her advice is usually right on the money!

PS: In her leisure time (when we let her out of the office), you will find Jeannie on the ski slopes, bike trails and golf courses, telling everyone she meets to apply sunscreen.

Leticia Spinelli

Clinical Assistant

Leticia Spinelli

Clinical Assistant

Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro Brazil, Leticia is a Brazilian Board Certified Dermatologist (Brazilian Society of Dermatology), and Master of Administrative Science in Global Health and Human Services Administration.

After working in her private clinic in Brazil for 8 years, she decided to move to Canada in 2016. She and her family chose Vancouver, where she pursued her Master’s Degree—which she completed in 2017—at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Since then, her cheerful and optimistic presence has been a welcome addition to the Project Skin MD team.

In the spirit of always improving, learning, and seeking excellence in everything she does, Leticia continues to educate herself on the latest in laser technology, injectables, and aesthetic dermatology. Her next big challenge? Taking the medical exam to become a Canadian-licensed MD.

In her spare time (we don’t know how she manages to find any), you’ll likely find her with her loving husband and daughter, or spending quality time with family and friends; over Japanese food (her favourite), if she has her way.

PS. Leticia is passionate about skin health and natural beauty, so she’s always seeking the latest and greatest in skincare and treatments. Make sure to ask about her favourites!

Rita Chauhan

Clinician & Patient Care Administrator

Rita Chauhan

Clinician & Patient Care Administrator

Rita is a true local – born and raised in East Vancouver (where she still lives today) – but has been travelling the world since she was just a baby. Her first trip to Fiji began what would become a lifetime of exploring cultures and worldviews that differed from her own. This inspired her to become a host to international students, to volunteer her time to many worthy causes, and ultimately to pursue a career in social work.

Her love of travel culminated in an “Eat, Pray, Love” trip to India and Dubai – she saw beauty everywhere. It was on this trip that she decided to marry her love for helping others with her passion for beauty. When she returned to Vancouver, she set her sights on a career in medical aesthetics, which ultimately led her to the team at Project Skin MD. Rita now spends her days helping others feel like the best, most beautiful versions of themselves.

Rita is a passionate foodie with a love for spices, so when she’s not with the team at PS, you can almost certainly find her experimenting in the kitchen.

PS. Rita has 2 fur babies—the loves of her life—a Maltese/Shih Tzu mix, and a Shih Tzu.

Christine Palylyk

Laser Technician & Cosmetic Tattoo Artist

Christine is a 4th-generation Lower Mainlander and the newest addition to the Technical and Clinical team here at Project Skin MD. With 19 years’ experience in the beauty industry (graduating from Blanche Macdonald in 1996), Christine embodies a true passion for aesthetics and beauty with a keen eye for detail.

Fresh from seven years at the Vancouver Laser & Skin Care Centre under Dr. Martin Braun, a year at the Lougheed Laser Centre prior to that (where she first made acquaintance with Dr. McGillivray in 2007), combined with a seven-year stretch at MAC Cosmetics, Christine truly loves to apply her knowledge of the science of beauty. She is an enthusiastic team member with a thirst for knowledge and is constantly updating her artistic and technical skills. On the softer side of this skill set, her warm and personal demeanor helps her clients feel instantly at ease.

On her personal days, Christine can be found riding her sport bike, enjoying the beautiful scenery that western North America has to offer. To date, her longest ride was a 4000-km road trip with her dad, all the way down to Wyoming and back. In the winter, Christine is glued to our local ski hills. Her love of all things aesthetic applies to the home as well – she enjoys home design and decorating, as well as drawing and painting.

Janice Coplin

Laser Technician

Janice Coplin

Laser Technician

Janice is an oldy but a goody – one of our original team members, that is! She is clearly full of energy, having followed Dr. McGillivray from Lougheed Laser to Pacific Dermaesthetics and now on to his dream project, Project Skin MD.

Energetic? – absolutely and her loyalty is humbling. After all these years and evolutions, Janice has steadily and skillfully mastered our lasers and technologies, applying great wisdom and knowledge from a 14-year background in medical aesthetics.

Specifically, she has extensive experience in laser hair removal, Thermage® and Fraxel® re:store Dual. Janice is efficient and effective while making people feel safe and confident in her care. Her technical excellence abounds but she says her reward comes from her relationships with patients, from working together to achieve their personal goals. We are thrilled Janice has traveling in her soul and has been with us on our journey – all the way to Project Skin MD.

PS: When Janice is not at the office, she can be seen at Chapters or Starbucks, preferably when they are together in the same place. Heavenly!

Stephanie Hewitt

Lead Clinician

Stephanie Hewitt

Lead Clinician

Stephanie had just returned to her native Victoria when, fortunately (for us), Project Skin MD coaxed her back once again to our glorious city! Her extensive sales and customer service background, together with her nurturing and compassionate personality, make Stephanie a perfect and congruent fit with the Project Skin MD team.

She feels privileged to share her passion and knowledge of advanced skincare and cosmetic treatments, particularly because of her belief in the exceptional product lines and services Project Skin MD has to offer. After a few years observing Dr. McGillivray in action, she now has made the switch to be on his side and work with patients during their treatment. Stephanie’s bright smile and engaging manner will put you at ease for a smooth and positive experience.

PS: Stephanie loves Vancouver city life – be it dining at new restaurants, walking along the seawall or exploring local fashion designers. Oh dear – South Granville shopping will be a tad dangerous for this fashionista!

Lindsay Lee

Phone Consultant & Administrator

Lindsay Lee

Phone Consultant & Administrator

Lindsay’s story begins here in Vancouver where she was born and raised. Her friendly, warm personality and desire to help others drew her to reception work at a prominent downtown medical clinic. She further honed her admin skills with time employed at UBC, before leaving to pursue her passion for aesthetics.

Besides the knowledge acquired from her Body Spa diploma at John Casablanca (top of her class), Lindsay gained a wealth of expertise working as a skin care specialist/facialist at local spas. She is extremely excited to be able to combine her two passions — patient/client relations and skin care — at Project Skin. Nothing makes her happier than assisting people in feeling welcome, relaxed, and beautiful.

PS: Lindsay has a voracious appetite for good food! She loves checking out new restaurants in town — so if you’re looking for a food recommendation at your next appointment, don’t hesitate to ask. After all, you need somewhere to show off your radiant skin!

Stephanie Skazlic

Senior Patient Care Administrator

Stephanie Skazlic

Senior Patient Care Administrator

Stephanie is a late and GREAT addition to the opening cast of Project Skin MD and when they say “better late than never,” we couldn’t agree more! As the self-proclaimed “paperwork Queen,” we all benefit from her mastery of organization. In fact, if there was a degree for Advanced International Professional Organizer, Stephanie would hold it.

Born in Vancouver but raised in Mexico City, Stephanie returned to Vancouver and seeded a fascination with healthcare while working for the BC Children’s Hospital. Throughout her career in medicine, she has worked in both family and surgical practices as well as in MRI. Lucky for us, her kind and generous spirit, strong work ethic and desire to be part of a cohesive team led her straight to the welcoming arms of the Project Skin MD team. We are so thrilled to have her.

As a patient, you will hear her warm, gentle voice when calling the clinic and experience her eager and dedicated service during your visits. If you need her, she will always be there to help with compassion and kindness.

PS: Stephanie’s best kept secret is that she is a very talented artist (painting) – the reason she finds beauty in the simplest of things. When she has free time (between work at Project Skin MD or raising two boys), Stephanie loves cycling through the mountains with the love of her life.

Karen Riley

Clinician

Karen Riley

Clinician

Growing up in a small seaside town, Karen could almost always be found by the beach – or at home with her makeup, trying out new looks and practicing technique. Not much has changed since then — she still lives in that same seaside town, and her passion for cosmetics and skin care is more apparent than ever.

Before joining our team, Karen spent years honing her makeup skills and building her extensive skincare knowledge while working at Shoppers Drug Mart. Today, her experience serves her well; she shines in her role as Skincare Advisor in our SkinCeuticals Advanced Clinical Spa.

Outside of work, Karen will undoubtedly be found with her family: seeking adventure on the ocean with her two young girls or scouting new and exciting places to scarf some yummy food. She loves to cook, almost as much as she loves her work, especially since a little “chef” can almost always be found by her side in the kitchen.

PS: Karen’s true passion lies in helping ladies look and feel their best… and she sure is good at what she does.

Krizel Singson

Patient Care Administrator

Born in Manila, Philippines, Krizel spent almost 20 years of her life living in Chicago, Illinois. There, she graduated from Roosevelt University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and her sights originally set on a career in Dermatology.

After spending some time working at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and at the Field Museum of Natural History as a DNA Research Assistant, she moved to Canada (Calgary, specifically) with her family. Once she arrived and realized the process of establishing the equivalency of her US degree would be harder than she thought, she decided to go back to school to become a Medical Aesthetician. Krizel knew she was meant to pursue a career helping people achieve ultimate skin health.

Before making her way to Vancouver, and eventually to the team at Project Skin MD, she gained valuable experience managing a team and working as both a Medical Consultant and Medical Aesthetician. Now a Certified Laser Technician, she’s passionate about helping others. Her immense sense of empathy enables her to build trusting relationships with her patients and find fulfilment in helping them achieve their goals.

When she’s not hard at work, you’ll find Krizel at the gym, in a fitness class, or outdoors. She loves spending time with her family, eating, and exploring all that the city of Vancouver has to offer; it reminds her of Chicago, with its diverse selection of food, things to do, and places to see.

Katrina was born in Yellowknife, NWT, but caught the wanderlust bug early as her dad’s work took her to Northern Ontario and Calgary, AB. Always driven and eager to take on a challenge, she graduated high school six months early and received her full aesthetic diploma that same year. Putting her skills to work, she gained experience working in a spa specializing in relaxation facials for four years.

More recently, Katrina returned to school for her diploma in clinical aesthetics before embarking on her biggest adventure yet – relocating to Vancouver by herself and joining the Project Skin MD team.

In her spare time, this travel addict finds herself backpacking through Asia (she’s up to a combined four months over three visits – and counting!). Closer to home, she’s always up for taking a long drive through the mountains, spending time with her family, and enjoying any and all lake-related activities.

Kyle Trudeau

Clinician & Laser Technician

Hailing from the small town of Quesnel, BC, Kyle relocated to Vancouver in 2008. After working in finance, he decided to make a career change to Nursing and graduating from nursing school in 2010.

As a nurse at VGH, Kyle assisted in a variety of departments and became known as a jack-of-all-trades – from working with the elderly population with dementia to assisting doctors in the angiogram department with minor day surgeries.

As an avid beach goer, Kyle started to notice the effects of excessive sun damage to his skin in his 30s – as so many of us do! After getting diagnosed with Vitiligo, he knew he needed to immerse himself into the dermatology world and learn as much as he could to help himself and see how many others he could help as well. Being introduced to laser skin treatments caught his eye and made him extremely excited to take on a completely new venture here at Project Skin MD.

“To be able to learn from the the best of the best in skincare from all the staff at PS was just an insane plus for me and my career.”

We couldn’t be more blessed or grateful for her service all these years and, like it or not, she cannot retire until we say so!

PS: When Nenita isn’t crunching numbers, she will be found with the apple of her eye, her grandson Lucas, and the other love of her life, her beautiful daughter Katrin.

With over 18 years of clinical experience as a Medical Aesthetician, Betty brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our patients in South Granville and Richmond. Since graduating Aesthetics School in 1999, she has experienced many facets of the industry, from working at a well-established spa for 4 years, to working as a Freelance Makeup Artist after graduating from Blanche MacDonald’s Freelance Makeup Artistry program in 2010. Ultimately, her passion for skincare won out, and for the past 12 years, she’s found her home in medical spas, and now at Project Skin MD.

Betty knows skin inside and out, and is passionate about guiding patients in achieving their skincare goals. She is diligent about spending time with each and every client to get a clear picture of their health, habits, and concerns, and is a big believer in achieving beautiful skin through a balance of healthy diet, lifestyle, and the right products and treatments. Her favourite moments happen when patients look in the mirror, beaming with confidence thanks to improvements in their skin.

Speaking English, Mandarin and Cantonese, Betty’s linguistic enable her to support both English and Chinese-speaking customers in navigating their skincare journeys and achieving true confidence.

PS. Betty’s favourite product—for her often dry skin—is the SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2.

Glendis Salih

Medical Aesthetician, Richmond Location

Originally from Caracas, Venezuela, Glendis moved to Vancouver in 2016 in search of new challenges and experiences.

A professionally trained Medical Aesthetician, Glendis has worked in this industry for over 9 years. She graduated from Academia Internacional de Estetica Carmen Vidal in 2010, and immediately knew that she had found her true passion in life. After working in a high-end medical spa for a few years, she opened and operated her own spa in Caracas, where the culture is very appearance-focused, and rejuvenation services are popular and advanced. Working in the competitive and demanding aesthetics industry in Venezuela taught her many lessons that she brings with her to Project Skin MD Richmond.

Besides providing a superior customer service experience and exceptional skincare advice and treatments, Glendis’ favourite part of the job is working with others who are as passionate about health and wellness as she is. She considers it a blessing and a privilege to have a career helping people achieve healthy skin, and watching them gain confidence and self-esteem along the way.

When she’s not helping you get your glow on, you’ll likely find her on a walk, practicing yoga, or cooking up a storm in her kitchen!

PS. Glendis loves trying new recipes, restaurants, and food so be sure to recommend your faves next time you see her!

Crystal Huang

Marketing & Patient Advisor, Richmond Location

Crystal Huang

Marketing & Patient Advisor, Richmond Location

Born in China, the lovely Crystal moved to Canada at the age of twelve. With a lifelong passion for beauty and fashion, she feels right at home in the aesthetic industry, though she tried her hand at a few other careers before finding her way to our team. In fact, her first job was as a Legal Administrative Assistant at a law firm.

With a Bachelor of Life Sciences from the University of British Columbia, Crystal is a self-proclaimed science geek (she can remember and pronounce “hydroxyphenocy propionic acid” without a problem but might have difficulty spelling “pronunciation”). This background certainly serves her well as she works to understand the science of her clients’ skin.

Crystal is a new mom, so when she’s not helping you get your glow on, you’ll find her spending time with her beautiful baby boy.

PS. Crystal loves to bake cakes, and believes the best way to deal with a difficult situation is to treat it like “a piece of cake”; chew it, embrace it, and digest it.

Alex Lai

Medical Aesthetician & Skincare Advisor, Richmond Location

For Alex, the road to finding his passion has truly been an adventure. While struggling to find his path after graduating from high school, he tried his hand at many endeavours, excelling in each but never finding his true calling. It wasn’t all for naught, because Alex can make you the best bubble tea/bubble waffle ever, while giving you an in-depth tarot card reading, and of course, great skincare advice.

His journey with skincare began at Sephora, where he worked as a Skincare Consultant. It was there that he discovered his passion for skin, which led him to his first ever facial at Project Skin MD®; he was immediately hooked. That facial that inspired him to learn more about the world of medical-grade skincare, and ultimately to apply for the position of Skincare Advisor at Project Skin MD® Richmond, where he puts his already vast knowledge of skincare to use every single day. Alex is now enrolled at Blanche MacDonald, where he is working towards his goal of one day becoming a renowned skin guru. In the meantime, if you have any questions about skincare, Alex is your guy!

PS. Alex can also give you guidance in repelling negative energy; a great add-on to your skincare consultation, right?
