Dr. William McGillivray

Dr. William McGillivray doesn’t wear a wet suit to work each day so you are not likely to guess he was a champion windsurfer. His name tag reads Dr. McGillivray – not Dr. Shred – yet close personal friends rarely make the distinction. What cannot be seen on the outside are the qualities by which we are unique. After additional training in family practice at the University of Saskatchewan and diagnostic radiology at the University of Alberta, Dr. McGillivray has devoted his medical career to the advancement of aesthetic medicine through a synergy of artistry, science, innovation and integrity.

With a commitment to forwarding his industry, Dr. McGillivray is identified at the forefront of emerging technologies, speaking to his exceptional experience with all aspects of aesthetic medicine. Dr. McGillivray was among the first Canadian physicians providing Fraxel laser resurfacing, Thermage skin tightening and more. Recognized as a key opinion leader and luminary educator, Dr. McGillivray travels the globe presenting and training on advanced applications for leading technologies including Fraxel®, Thermage®, neuromodulators and dermal fillers. In 2008 he presented the concept of Thermage and Fraxel as a same day combined treatment (Thermafrax) at the International Master Course on Aging Skin in Paris, France. Dr. McGillivray is an author on multiple peer reviewed research publications in aesthetic medicine. Over a 30 year span he has owned and operated over 40 devices.

Before Project Skin MD, Dr. McGillivray founded some of BC’s most notable aesthetic centres. Project Skin MD, Dr. McGillivray’s own final “project,” unifies the philosophies, best practices and desired faculties he’s collected on this journey into a singular, exceptional facility and experience.
