    What are Clinical Peels?

Thanks to the benefits of Beta Hydroxy Acids (BHA), SkinCeuticals clinical peels—available at our Vancouver clinic—boost the efficacy of virtually every skincare product or treatment program we offer for professional skin maintenance at its finest. Our personalized clinical peel treatments by SkinCeuticals help maintain skin’s radiance and day-to-day health. Without downtime, these customized, medical-grade chemical peels exfoliate and stimulate the skin to correct common conditions like fine lines, enlarged pores, congested skin, acne, blemishes and irregular pigmentation.

    Treatment & Technology in Vancouver

In a convenient, comfortable 30 to 60-minute appointment, the skin is cleansed and prepped to receive an even application of clinical peel solution. Once neutralized, the skin is cooled and protected with an SPF. Patients return immediately to regular activities. In the 5 to 7 days before treatment, patients must discontinue all forms of topical vitamin A (retinol) and other abrasive treatment agents.

Contact our team to confirm safe skincare pre- and post-treatment. For certain skin concerns or objectives, dermaplaning may be recommended to enhance the effects of a clinical peel treatment at our Vancouver clinic.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Who will be performing my treatment?

At Project Skin MD® Vancouver, medical facials and peel treatments are only performed by certified, experienced medical aestheticians.

What does a Clinical Peel treatment include?

We pride ourselves at our ability and knowledge to customize all treatment to your individual skin needs. Therefore, the steps performed may vary between individuals but also from one treatment to the other.

What does a Clinical Peel feel like?

During the treatment you may feel a mild tingling sensation as a result of the highly concentrated products used. You may also feel a slight heating sensation while it sits on your skin. Your medical aesthetician will make sure that you are comfortable at all times during the treatment and will not leave the room at any point. If you are experiencing any form of discomfort, simply mention it and it will be addressed right away.

Should I expect any downtime after treatment?

You may experience mild sensitivity and redness for 24-48 hours after the treatment. Depending
on the original state of your skin, you may experience light peeling that will typically start on day 3 and last for 2-3 days. If peeling occurs, do not peel off the skin but simply hydrate it properly. It will speed up the healing process and reveal beautiful, fresh skin.

Can I resume my normal activities right after the treatment?

For the most part, yes. However, it is recommended to avoid excessive perspiration, hot tubs, and saunas for 24 hours after your treatment. Also, direct sun exposure on the treated area should be avoided for 1-2 weeks.
