In our latest episode of IGTV, Brand Director, Vanessa Grutman, connected with SkinCeuticals Regional Sales Manager for Western Canada, Colleen Kolmel, to walk you through the Custom D.O.S.E. experience.
Your Custom D.O.S.E. experience will include the following:
1. A complimentary consultation and guided skin questionnaire
Either virtually or in-person, one of our skincare advisors will provide you with a complimentary consultation and guide you through the Custom D.O.S.E. questionnaire. The Custom D.O.S.E. robot will suggest a formula that combines 1 of 2 bases and several of 14 active ingredients to create your perfect serum!
2. Establishing your Custom D.O.S.E. formula
Your Custom D.O.S.E. serum will include 1 of 2 base options (a hydroalcoholic oil-free base for oily, acne-prone skin or an emulsion base for normal to dry skin) and several of 14 active ingredients. Each of the active ingredients in your Custom D.O.S.E. formula will be selected to synergistically target the skin concerns you highlighted in the questionnaire.
Several of the 14 active ingredients are exclusive to SkinCeuticals D.O.S.E. in the SkinCeuticals line, and no other SkinCeuticals product will combine the active ingredients in the same way as in your D.O.S.E. serum. This is what makes it the perfect addition to your regular routine to boost your skin outcomes to the next level!
Vanessa was looking for a formula to hydrate her skin, target lingering melasma from her two pregnancies, and provide anti-aging benefits. As such, her Custom D.O.S.E. included the emulsion base with 1.8% tranexamic acid (to address the root cause of pigmentation), 6% hepes and 5.45% hydrovance (for exfoliating benefits) and 10% proxylane (to stimulate Hyaluronic Acid production and prevent wrinkle formation).

3. Dispensing your Custom D.O.S.E. serum
Once your perfect formula is established, the amazing D.O.S.E. robot will dispense your serum into a fresh Custom D.O.S.E. bottle. The device is so precise that your serum will not dispense if an incorrect bottle was used! A highly sensitive scale on the device tells the robot how much to dispense of each ingredient.
4. Centrifuging your Custom D.O.S.E. serum
To ensure the consistency is just right, you Custom D.O.S.E. serum will be transferred to a centrifuge on the device to combine all the ingredients – spinning 1200 times per minute! Offering the same outcome as a serum mixed in a laboratory, your Custom D.O.S.E. will be ready for use after approximately 3 minutes.
5. Personalizing your Custom D.O.S.E bottle and box
For the final touch, our handy Custom D.O.S.E robot will print a personalized label for your Custom D.O.S.E. bottle and box, with a list of the ingredients, unique instructions for use, and of course, your name!
And just like that, your Custom D.O.S.E. serum is ready to take home or to be shipped to you for immediate use.
Since there are no preservatives in the formula, we recommend you use your serum within 3 months of purchase. Your Custom D.O.S.E. will also include a unique D.O.S.E. I.D. – you can simply call us with your I.D. number for quick and easy reordering of your formula!
